    WELCOME

    Published: 9/2/2008

    Welcome to 6th Grade Mathematics. We are going to have a great year together in Room 613 as we increase our knowledge of whole numbers, percents, fractions, place value, measurement and lots, lots more!

    Grading and Homework Policy
    GRADING
    Marking period grades are comprised as follows:
    Tests = 50%
    Quizzes/Projects = 35%
    Homework = 15%

    Students will be taking weekly or bi-weekly quizzes (every other week.) Each quiz will assess the material covered from that time period. The lowest quiz grade will be dropped at the end of each marking period.

    Unit tests will occur at the end of each unit. Unit tests resulting in a grade below 70% may be retaken. The average of the original and the retake will be the revised grade with a maximum of 70%.

    HOMEWORK
    Students will have math homework every weeknight and occasionally over the weekend. Homework that is handed in on time and completed is graded without penalty. Students will recieve a 10 point (10%) deduction on late homework handed in by the following class. Any homework that is not handed in after the second class it was assigned will earn a zero.
